Mariam Momodu Foundation
The Mariam Momodu Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation through literacy, education, and mentorship. Founded with a vision to ignite the power of reading and critical thinking among African youth especially girl, the Foundation is committed to building a culture where books become bridges to opportunity, creativity, and self-discovery.
We believe that every child deserves access to books, quality learning, and the tools to dream boldly. Through book drives, literacy campaigns, school partnerships, and community programs, we are working to close the education gap and raise a generation of confident, thoughtful, and informed leaders.
Our Programs
We run several high-impact initiatives designed to make reading, learning, and leadership more accessible:
Books for Every Child: A year-round campaign focused on collecting and distributing books to underserved schools and communities. We collaborate with partners to build reading corners and mini-libraries in classrooms across Nigeria.
Read, Write, Rise, Literacy Clinics: Hands-on reading and writing workshops that teach basic literacy skills, spark creativity, and help children fall in love with books. Delivered in schools, IDP camps, and local community centers.
Girls Can Learn: A girls-only initiative designed to support literacy, education, and leadership for young girls. Includes book mentorships, scholarships, and back-to-school campaigns to ensure girls stay in school and thrive.
Learning Without Borders: An outreach program using digital tools, mobile learning kits, and audio books to reach children in rural areas with little or no internet or electricity access.
Mentor Africa: Pairing students and young adults with mentors in education, leadership, and entrepreneurship. We believe that one conversation can change a life.
